Stephen Douglas

Stephen A. Douglas of Little Rock passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019. He was born on June 10, 1940 in Buckhannon, West Virginia to George and Willa Forinash Douglas. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Phillip Douglas, wife Donna Bryan Douglas, and stepdaughter Lori Walker.

Steve grew up in Webster Springs, West Virginia where he graduated from high school in 1958. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1962 with a degree in Business Administration. He taught system analysis classes for the Department of Navy in Washington D.C. then worked as a consultant for many years at Booz Allen.

Steve started to work for the United States Food and Drug Administration and moved to Arkansas in 1972. He helped start the National Center for Toxicological Research and retired from there after 27 years as the Director of Administrative Services. Steve is survived by his wife, Phyllis Rice Douglas, his daughter, Valerie Barton Douglas (Eddie); brother, Scott Douglas (Jeannie); sister Carol Sue Shaw; sister-in-law, Linda (David) George; stepdaughter, Jami (Gary) Kampschneider, and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 16th at 2pm at Roselawn Cemetery.
