Alfred B. Locke

Alfred Byron Locke, 43, drew his last breath on November 21, 2025, with family by his side. He enjoyed his garden, sunrises, sunsets, tie dye, and he cherished his daughter, Scarlet Locke, whom he lovingly called his princess.

Others left to mourn his loss include his mother, Toni Locke; his aunt, Lynda Mace (Noel) and cousins Katelyn Mace and Madison Mace; uncles Dwight Locke, Apple Kahler and cousin Amber Kahler, and Henry Kahler (Maria). He is preceded in death by his father, James Byron Locke; grandparents Cecil D. and Stella K Locke, Alfred W. Kahler and Louise M. Kahler; and aunts Karen Locke and Pam Kahler. Blended family includes grandmother Sammie Kahler Wheat (Sid) and uncles Chad Caple (Marion) and Shane Caple (Melissa).

A.B., as he was known, had an off-the-wall sense of humor that was legendary. In high school he was a Mathlete, and he designed a robot that danced the macarena along with his teammates in an Olympics of the Mind competition. He naturally grasped complex mathematical concepts, and he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.

His character is best summed up by him bringing water to a thirsty homeless man after returning from a walk on a scorching summer day in California’s Central Valley. The family asks that his many friends, if moved to pray for him, reflect on Mark 9:41; and if moved to charity donate warm hats, gloves, and socks to the Fresno Mission or Little Rock Compassion Center.

Special thanks to Amy at Arkansas Cremations for her professional care and attention to our family’s needs during this sad time. Family members and close personal friends will be invited to a private memorial service to be held in Little Rock, Arkansas, at a date to be determined later.
