Beatrice “Bea” Skaggs, 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the late hours of the night on October 27, 2025, going home to be with her Lord, four years to the day after the passing of her beloved husband, Bobby Skaggs. They shared more than 50 wonderful years of marriage.
Bea was born on June 7, 1949, to Oscar Roy and Geraldine Roderick. She was one of 14 children and part of the first set of twins born to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby; her daughter, Theresa Penix; her grandson, Eric Skaggs; her brothers, Bill Johnson, David Roderick, and Norman Roderick; and her sisters, Kay "Alice" Sarmen, Marilyn Volentine, Arlene Williams, Donna Owens, Nancy Philpott, Betty "Sue" Dunn, and Leatrice White, her twin, who passed away just weeks before her.
Bea is survived by her son, Bobby T. Skaggs; grandchildren, Adam, Lucy, Josh, Mark, and Krista; and her sisters, Sarah Cole, Darlene Roderick, and Barbara Henson. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews who will remember her with affection.
Bea was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and an active supporter of the Salvation Army. She was a woman with a heart of gold: kind, generous, and always doing whatever she could to make sure everyone around her was happy. Throughout her life, she shared countless adventures with her husband during his service in the U.S. Air Force, living abroad in places such as England and Germany, just to name a few. Bea will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her warmth, and the love she so freely gave to others.
