Bruce Doyle Eskew

May 22, 1942 — July 24, 2025

Hot Springs, Arkansas

Bruce Doyle Eskew, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 22, 1942, in Jessieville, Arkansas, Bruce was the son of Vernon and Gracie Eskew.

He graduated from Fountain Lake High School and then continued his education at the University of Arkansas, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering.

Bruce began his career in the steel industry in Alabama, where he met his future wife, Jean. They married in 1969 and together built a life full of love, laughter, and family.

Bruce will be remembered most for his deep love of the outdoors, particularly hunting, and for his incredible storytelling. But perhaps his greatest joy was being “Pawpaw” to his grandsons. He never missed a chance to spoil them, share his wisdom, or sit and enjoy their company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Gracie Eskew; his sister, Doris Caton; and his brother, Douglas Eskew. Bruce is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean Eskew; his sons, Mark Eskew (Jenitta) and Patrick Eskew (Cydnie); and his treasured grandsons, Cole, Cade, Asher, and Aden Eskew; his brother, Dennis Eskew (Barbara); and nephews, nieces, and many cousins. Bruce leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and family devotion.

In keeping with Bruce’s request, there will be no service.
