Charles James Cote’ passed away at home in Little Rock on January 18, 2026 after a yearlong battle with cancer. Chuck was born in Detroit MI on April 5, 1947 to Mary Carney and Louis Cote’, the youngest of four children. In 1965, after graduating from University of Detroit High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and spent 13 months in Vietnam. When asked what he did in Vietnam he responded, “Whatever they told me to do!”
Upon returning home he attended Michigan State University graduating in 1973. He continued to be a passionate Spartan throughout his life. He began his career with Xerox and after seven successful years, and achieving the top sales award numerous times, he moved to Midland Michigan to begin a distinguished career with Pendell Printing where his natural leadership, strong personality and talent for motivating others made him an accomplished and respected executive. Never one to stop growing, he later started a successful career in helping others to succeed in business through his coaching and consulting; especially through his programs Stand and Deliver and Expect the Best.
While living in Midland Chuck was active in many organizations, both professional and nonprofit, and a leader in the community.
Finally, in 2020 he and his wife Josie moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. Chuck was a man who embraced life fully; he was competitive and always enjoyed a challenge! He loved playing golf, hunting, skiing, scuba diving and staying active.
As a three time cancer survivor he lived each day with purpose and gratitude. His enthusiasm, generous heart, and positive outlook made him someone people naturally gravitated towards.
He is survived by the family he cherished: his beloved wife of 27 years Josie Thompson; son Charles Cote’(Meghan), daughters, Charlotte Proffitt (Tim), and Amy Martin; his grandchildren: Teddy Cote’, Henry Cote’, Hunter Proffitt, Ann- Charlotte Minifee (Chris), Harrison Proffitt (Allison), Falkner Proffitt, Henry Proffitt, Jack Thomas (JT) Martin and three great grandchildren, his sister-in-law Marian Cote’ and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Mary Lou Ankenbrandt (Frank), Joanne Christie (Dick), and brother Dick Cote’.
