Charles Walter Nichols

February 8, 1970 — November 30, 2025

Conway, Arkansas

Charles Walter Nichols, 55, passed away peacefully in Conway, Arkansas, on November 30, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born on February 8, 1970, in Mobile, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Deborah Nichols; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his best friend, Terry Wilson; and numerous other relatives.

He is survived by his 3 children; Joshua (Hanah) Nichols, Jennifer (Isaac) Lester, and Jarod (Mirranda) Nichols; his 4 grandchildren, Zaedin and Magnolia Nichols, Bowen and Marlowe Lester, who were his pride and joy; his sister, Amy (Chris) Brown; nephews, Zachary (Haley) Brown and Kolby Brown; and mother of his children Rebecca Nichols. He is also remembered fondly by his church family at Old Liberty Baptist Church.

He grew up with a lifelong love for the water that shaped the course of his life. A devoted shrimp boat captain for many years, he found his true calling out in the open sea. He earned respect through his hard work, his deep bond to the Gulf, and his stories he shared throughout life about his adventures.

Most of all, he was strong in his faith. He knew how to exhibit God's love for everyone. He always made everyone smile, feel important and welcomed. He loved to joke and always found a way to make people laugh. He never let a moment pass that he wasn’t sharing his testimony or the love of God with everyone around him.

Charles will forever be remembered as an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and a true blessing to so many. He will also be remembered for his love of God, Alabama football, his devotion to family and friends, and the lasting impact he had on everyone around him.

Charles’ wishes were for his ashes to be spread in the Gulf, the waters he cherished and called home. There will be a memorial service announced at a later date.
