Christopher Scott Mannis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Scott Mannis. Scott passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2025, in Bonnerdale, Arkansas, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 4,1971, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, Scott was a beacon of love, laughter, and resilience, whose impact will be felt for generations to come.

Scott married the love of his life, Ashley, on December 23, 1992. Having met two years prior, he proclaimed to her following a kiss, “I’m gonna marry you one day.” Scott was a man of his word and they have been inseparable ever since — a true “love at first sight” story. They were best friends and soulmates for almost 35 years, sharing a deep connection that transcends earth and will last for eternity.

Scott was the cherished son of William Carroll Mannis and Carolyn Annette Mannis. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Burl (Elsie) Turner and Henry (Treva) Mannis; grandparents-in-law Benson (Nellie) Brantley; father-in-law Gary Brantley; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Mannis; his sons Will (Jessi) Mannis and Jared (Brittany) Mannis; grandsons Maddox and Ollie Mannis; granddaughter Zoey Mannis; parents Carroll (Carolyn) Mannis; sister Penny Rowland; brother-in-law Gene (Margaret) Brantley; mother-in-law Allene (Terry) Winfree; uncle Charles (Mary) Mannis; nephews Josh Rowland, Garret Brantley and Trace Brantley; and many beloved cousins.

Scott was a 1990 graduate of Stuttgart High School. His senior yearbook epithet read: “I’m here today, gone tomorrow. Remember me when you see my name written on the wall.” From 1997 to 2001 he attended Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas earning credits in Welding and Engineered Drawing. Over the years he earned numerous technical degrees, professional certifications and acquired valuable trade skills from hands-on hard work. His knowledge was broad but mainly centered around Sales and Industrial Applications; Welding, Safety, Gases, Machinery, Tools and Maintenance.

Scott began his career working for Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, AR from 1990 to 2004. In addition, between 1999 and 2009 Scott partnered with his wife in several business ventures including Professional Bail Bondsman, Recovery Agent and Bar & Grill owner/operator. In 2004 Scott was hired as an outside sales representative for Airgas, Inc. He would later go on to become an account manager, strategic account manager and district manager before parting with them in 2016. Scott was hired in 2017 to work for Mr. Ira Kleinman, CEO/President of KDC, Falk Plumbing Supply, AWI Supply and The Tool Source. Scott fit like a glove, knowing he had found his place working for a fourth-generation, family-owned company built on deep roots and strong values.

Scott was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved listening to a wide variety of music, with his favorite being 80's Hair Bands. He could also shoot a pretty mean game of pool. Scott was very particular about keeping his yard manicured and took every opportunity to get outside on the mower or tractor. He could work on or fix just about anything. In later years he loved spending time with his grand babies. After relocating to the Ouachita National Forest, Scott and his wife, Ashley, would take weekends to go visit

them. His grand babies were the absolute light of his life! Scott, affectionately known as “Chris” by his close family, had an overwhelming number of friends, associates, colleagues. If you ever met him, he could easily find common ground and relate to you. He was honest, quick witted and always spoke his mind. Dependable to the core! If you needed something you could call on him to make it happen. Scott’s strategic vision and adaptability allowed for success in any situation. He was a team leader in all aspects of his life and was never afraid to seize the opportunity for advancement. Scott was a dedicated husband and a true provider for his family. His presence here will forever be missed.

The family wishes to thank the countless medical staff members who provided unparalleled care during Scott’s medical journey. Ashley extends special thanks to Debbie Varnell, Carey McMillan, Tim Wells, Mark Bradley, Jason Hall, Christy Farrester, and Allene Winfree. She also expresses her deepest gratitude to Mr. Ira Kleinman for his unwavering support and altruism, which has inspired her to stay strong and hopeful.
