Daniel Martin Meeks, 69, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 30, 2026, with his family by his side.
In addition to his parents, Harold and Sarah Meeks, he was preceded in death by his brother Douglas Meeks and his sister Martha Shoeib. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Dorothy Norton Meeks; two brothers David and Richard Meeks; three sisters Sarah Costello, Mary Jane Smitley, Elizabeth Benyo; granddaughter Ryann Catherine, and step-daughter Catherine CeCeel Mathis; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Formerly a resident of Bethel Park, Pa., Dan was a graduate of Bethel Park High School where he excelled in swimming and co-captained the varsity swim team when they earned the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League Class 3A Championship. Upon graduation Dan earned a swimming scholarship from Ohio University in Athens, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He later moved to Little Rock, where he planted roots and called home.
Dan worked in industrial sales for over 40 years with Pittsburgh Hose & Fitting, Gates Corporation, Siemans, and Motion Industries. He found great joy in connecting with high school friends and working in his vegetable garden, and he had a great love and affection for his pets. His happiest times were spent with his granddaughter Ryann, who brought much love and enrichment to his life.
Dan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held in Little Rock at a later date.
