David Johnson passed away surrounded by loving family on June 25, 2025 at the age of 72. He was born in Conway, Arkansas on November 29, 1952 to Waverly and Georgia Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and bother James Waverly and is survived by Donna, his wife of 52 years, sister Paulette Rice, daughter Brooke Cook and son-in-law Ryan, son Clint Johnson and daughter-in-law Megan, two fur children Dexter and Oliver, two grandchildren, Mitchell and Cache Johnson, two fur grandchildren, Wednesday and Willow and many nieces and nephews.
David was a life long tinkerer, which he shaped into a career designing and repairing industrial machinery. He knew a little about everything and always joked it would take five kids with Master's Degrees and six figure salaries to replace him. After retirement, his gifts for engineering and his warm heart merged to help people in need through United Methodist Committee on Relief and Ozark Mission Project.
David loved the outdoors, especially following any kind of hunting dog through fields, forests and swamps. David carried Donna around the world on cruises, making memories all along the way.
Services will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 7 at Vilonia United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in David's honor to Vilonia UMC, UMCOR or a worthwhile charity of your choice.
