Debra “Debbie” Houk, 69, of Atkins, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on May 18, 2025, surrounded by her daughters, family, and friends who loved her like their own.
Born on February 23, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, Debbie was mother to Kenitha Hall (daughters Haley and Morgan), James David Caylor Jr (children Jamie and Cody), and Mistina Caylor (daughters Bailey and Skylar). Her greatest wish in life was that her children and grandchildren would always know how deeply and unconditionally she loved them.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Buster Houk, along with other beloved family members who went before her.
Known for her boundless compassion and giving heart, Debbie never hesitated to help someone in need. Whether it was family, a friend, or a stranger, she gave with a loving spirit.
A lifelong animal lover, Debbie had a special bond with all creatures great and small—from her childhood days through her final moments, animals brought her peace, joy, and purpose. Her legacy of kindness will live on through every life she touched, both human and animal.
In honor of her love for animals, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Needy Paws Animal Shelter, a cause that held a special place in Debbie’s heart.
Debbie's light and love will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
