Debra "Peanut" Marie (Owens) Kelser

July 22, 1958 — September 2, 2024

Amity, Arkansas

Debra (Debbie) "Peanut" Marie Kelser (née Owens), age 66, of Amity, Arkansas, peacefully began her journey to a better place on September 2, 2024, at CHI St. Vincent's Hospital in Hot Springs, following complications from COVID-19. She is survived by her devoted husband, Rick Kelser, of Amity.

Debbie relocated to Arkansas from West Virginia in 2007, drawn to the serene beauty of DeGray Lake and Hot Springs. This is where she wished to complete her circle of life, surrounded by the natural splendor she cherished. Debbie found joy in crafting, camping, fishing, and embracing the beauty of the "Natural State."

Born to Jerry Owens of Tilden, Illinois, and Sally Fasano of Boston, Debbie was the middle child, with an older brother, Jerry, and a younger sister, Sandra. As the daughter of a Navy serviceman, she experienced life in various places, including Hawaii and Denmark, where she became fluent in Danish and developed a fondness for 'Salt-Licorice,' a beloved treat in Denmark.

Debbie is lovingly remembered by her six children: Christopher Owens of Chicago, IL; his former wife, Carrie Lee McPherson, of Essex, MD; Paul Blazonis of Jefferson City, MO; Dusty Kelser of Hot Springs, AR; Joshua Blazonis of Fort Meade, MD; Nicholas Blazonis of Amity, AR; and Mindy Wallace of Winterville, NC.

She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Ryan Owens of Essex, MD; Jonathan Owens of Dayton, MD; Nathanial Owens of Albuquerque, NM; Christopher Owens Jr. of Albuquerque, NM; Isaiah Owens of Albuquerque, NM; Natalia Blazonis of Fort Meade, MD; Alara Blazonis of Fort Meade, MD; Kenric Kelser of Hot Springs, AR; Teagan Wallace of Winterville, NC; and Makenzee Blazonis of Jefferson City, MO, as well as one great-granddaughter, Millie Owens of Essex, MD.

Debbie was affectionately known as “Peanut” by her loving husband.
