Dennis Joseph Bunda

Dennis Joseph Bunda of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on August 21 after battling cancer. Dennis was born on August 14, 1964, in Storm Lake, Iowa to parents, Lester and Donna Bunda. He attended Pocahontas Catholic School and graduated from Pocahontas Community High School. Dennis also graduated from Buena Vista College and studied at the University of South Dakota.


Dennis lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Memphis, Tennessee and Little Rock, Arkansas and worked in finance.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lisa (Shull) Bunda, and their children, Hailey Stuetelberg (Kyle) of Dallas, Texas and Will Bunda of Little Rock, Arkansas.


Other survivors include his parents; his in-laws Vivian Hathaway of Warsaw, Indiana and Charles and Cathy Shull of Atlanta, Georgia; siblings Denise Kakacek (Al) of Pocahontas, Iowa, Kathy Stover (Bruce) of Humboldt, Iowa, and Steve Bunda (Pam)
of Omaha, Nebraska. Dennis’ nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends will all miss his larger-than-life personality.
Dennis was preceded in death by grandparents, Eldor and Alvina Peterson and William and Laura Bunda, all of Pocahontas, Iowa.


Dennis loved his family, politics, Labradors, and baseball. Dennis was a high school and college athlete and was the first one to score a home run at the new Pocahontas High School baseball field. He enjoyed coaching and watching his children play
sports and other activities.  He was a long-time member of Christ the King Catholic Church and drew great strength from his faith. 


Many thanks to family and friends who supported Dennis throughout his life, especially through his illness.

He will be interred at Calvary Cemetery in Pocahontas, Iowa. A memorial service will be held in Little Rock at a later time.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Dennis, donations will be used to support the family’s wishes.
