Dennis Eugene Smart

Dennis Eugene Smart, aged 66, of Hot Springs passed away at home on September 25, 2024. Dennis was born on November 15, 1957, in Malvern, AR, to Eugene and Mary Lou Smart. He was a 1977 graduate of Benton High School and dedicated over 45 years of his life to working in construction. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Teresa Joy Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathryn Smart; his daughter Lynsey Rima and her son Brody Rima; Lacey Brock (Quion) and their daughters Jansen, Amree, and Haelyn Brock; and Lesley Ball and her children Ashlyn and Camden Ball. He also leaves behind his brother Perry Smart, his beloved aunt Carolyn Weir, several nieces, nephews, and many family and friends. 

Dennis was an avid hunter and looked forward to hunting season every year. He had a deep passion for sports, especially as a dedicated Razorback fan. He was known for his competitive spirit, whether playing with his daughters or grandchildren. He had a strong desire to win. He had a love for music and enjoyed singing, a talent not many people knew about. His “hidden” talent as a singer was witnessed by many at his daughters' weddings. Dennis will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at Oaklawn Church of God in Hot Springs, AR. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM.
