Dorothy B. Funderburg

Dorothy Bell Funderburg, age 83, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Dorothy was born on April 8, 1943, in Myrtle, Mississippi, to the late Clark and Annie Lou Merritt.

A devoted mother and homemaker, Dorothy was a faithful member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. She found great joy in supporting her family and was a loving and proud presence at every sporting event and school function involving her grandchildren. Her dedication and love left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Bobby Wayne Funderburg, and her sister, Annie Pearl Hansen.

She is survived by her daughter, Schwanda Flowers Heldenbrand (Seth) of Alexander; her cherished grandchildren, Zack, Luke, and Marcy Flowers, and Will and Sophie Heldenbrand; and her brother, M.C. Merritt.

A private graveside committal service for family will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice Home Care – Tribute of Life Foundation.
