Elaine Marie (Mahony) Braddock, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, Godmother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on October 8 th , 2025, in Little Rock, AR.
Elaine was born on November 11, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA. She grew up in Philadelphia and south New Jersey, graduating from Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia, and later attended the Community College of Philadelphia.
Following graduation, Elaine worked briefly for the Southeast Pennsylvania Transport System, and later for the Insurance Company of North America. She later hired on with Fireman’s Fund Insurance, moving frequently around the country as an operations manager and efficiency expert. In this role, Elaine was sent into offices experiencing management challenges. Her tenure in the industry included assignments in Boston, Seattle, Sacramento, and Little Rock.
Elaine eventually settled in Little Rock, where she left the insurance industry, worked as a team supervisor with AT&T, and spent her later professional years working as an executive assistant for the Arkansas Food Bank, striving to make life easier for thousands of Little Rock residents in need of assistance.
Elaine’s family & friends remember her for her selfless & caring nature, her sharp wit, her terrific sense of humor, her love of travel, and perhaps most importantly, her love of animals.
Elaine is preceded in death by her mother & father, Bill & Evelyn (nee Fitzgerald) Mahony, and her aunt & Godmother Isabel (nee Fitzgerald) Rafter, and her uncle Bill Rafter.
She is survived by her lifelong best friend Vicki Kapaun & their little dog Ebony, her brother Bill Mahony & sister-in-law Mary Ann (nee Brantley), and their daughter (Elaine’s Goddaughter) Lauren (nee Mahony) Clanton & her husband Daniel; her cousins Bill Rafter Jr, his wife Colette (nee Winther), their children Alison and Katie, & her cousin Maureen (nee Rafter) Reilly, her husband John, and their children Shannon & Johnny, and of course her second family of close friends & neighbors in Little Rock.
