George Martin Shumaker passed peacefully in Little Rock on February 12, 2026 in the John l. McClellan Memorial VA Hospital Hospice. He was born on January 11, 1949. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence A. Shumaker and mother Rachel Shumaker. He is survived by a sister, Ann Shuck (St. Louis, MO.) and brother, William Shumaker of Little Rock. 

In his younger days, he was an avid amateur photographer. He graduated from Hall High School. While in the Army he served in combat in Vietnam and for many years he served in the Arkansas National Guard. Prior to retiring, he worked as custodian in the John McClellan VA Hospital. He was also an avid collector of Stephen King novels. He was a lifelong member of Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church. He lived a quiet, solitary lifestyle. 

Interment will be at Pinecrest Cemetery (7401 Hwy 5N Alexander, AR,72002), Rev. Rushkin Falls will officiate a graveside memorial service on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 10:00 am.
