George Oakes Ropp, born October 3, 1934, died July 14, 2026.He graduated Blytheville High School and attended Arkansas Tech. He was motivated to support his country in the Korean War era and joined the US Army. After his military service he pursued a career in state government and retired from Arkansas Employment Security Department in 1988. He is survived by his wife Anna of North Little Rock, son Paul (James) of Little Rock and cousin Donna Sue Gore of Pensacola, Florida.

His career included several promotions culminating in senior leadership. He enjoyed traveling the state monitoring local offices and attending international conventions for networking and sharing knowledge.

George loved boating with friends and family, always searching for the perfect sandbar. He also loved summer vacations in Gulf Shores, Alabama and winter ski trips to Durango, Colorado.

Professional services provided by Arkansas Cremation. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Humane Society of Pulaski county. A celebration of life will be planned in the near future.
