On June 21, 2025, Gerald Delavan, aka Jerry or JD, transitioned to his eternal fish camp. Jerry was born January 29, 1952, to David and Sybil Turpin Delavan in Pasadena, TX.
The family moved to Little Rock, Arkansas when he was one year old. Jerry was an avid fisherman, geologist, artist, chef, and comedian, in no particular order. He loved being outdoors any time of the year to investigate something new, see new places, and meet new people. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years,
Karen Delavan, his step son, Leif Eklund of New Orleans, LA and his partner Janet Arias, and grandchildren Sofia and Lucas Eklund of Panama City, Panama. as well as his brother and sister-in-law Fred Delavan and Eileen Powers of Annapolis, MD, his cousin Shaye Prather and her husband Ernie, of Troy, AL, his niece and her husband and children Leigh Delavan Lockard and Sam, George and Claire, and nephew and his wife and daughter Charles Michael Delavan, McKenzie and Fiona of New York, NY, and many friends around the country. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn Delavan. There will be a celebration of his life at his home on Saturday October 25, from 1 pm until the stories are all told.
