Haskell Don Whitley, born August 25, 1943, passed away on November 11, 2025, in Malvern, Arkansas. He lived a life rooted in hard work, deep family bonds, and a genuine love for the simple joys of living. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
Haskell spent more than 45 years with Acme Brick at the Ouachita plant, where he earned the respect of coworkers through his strong work ethic and steady dedication. He took great pride in his work and in the friendships he built over the years.
At home, Haskell was all about family. He leaves behind his son, Dylan Whitley, and his daughters Linda Tillman and her husband Michael, and LaDonna Loftis. He was a proud grandfather to Michelle, Haylee, Autumn, Rianna, and Christian, each of whom brought joy and laughter into his life. He is also survived by his brother Marlon Whitley and wife Earlene, his sister Earlene Phillips, and a large circle of extended family and friends who loved him and will feel his absence deeply.
Haskell found peace in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved watching baseball—pastimes that filled his days with happiness and created many cherished memories.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Whitley, whom he missed deeply. He is also preceded by his parents, Guy and Rellie Whitley, and his siblings Dean, Lyndle, Milton, Bernice Smith, Charlotte Francis, Delphine Wright, and Earnestine Franklin.
Haskell leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family. Those who loved him will carry his memory in their hearts and find comfort in the values he passed down.
