Hilda Jordan (Alexander) Thomas

Mrs. Hilda A. Thomas, 102, died Saturday June 27, 2026, at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 30, 1923, in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Irvin Grant Alexander and Virna Jordan Alexander. From her birth, she was known as “Tiny” to her family. She married William Lafayette “Bill” Thomas in in Memphis, TN on June 24, 1950.

Preceding her in death is her parents; her husband, Bill Thomas; her brother, Irvin Grant Alexander; her sisters, Patricia Alexander Burrow and Elise Dunkley; her son Kenneth Whittington Thomas; and her daughter, Jane Elise Grogan. She is survived by her son, William Robin Thomas and daughter, Lee Ann Thomas; a granddaughter, Annelise Grogan Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was wonderful cook and loving mother. She worked as seamstress, milliner, caterer, clothing salesperson, real estate agent and secretary during her life to raise four children on her own. One of her later pastimes was sitting on her porch with a glass of wine enjoying the scenery and wildlife. Two raccoons, Sweet Momma and Georgia were among her favorites.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the chapel at the First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Hilda’s honor to First United Methodist Church or the Pulaski County Humane Society.

The family would like to thank her nurse, Joan Carder, Barbara Young and Vanessa Lewis for their wonderful care and love during her illness.
