James Alan "Jim" Parson, a cherished family man known for his warmth and generosity, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, after suffering a massive stroke at his home in Paron. His life was a testament to love, connection, and finding joy in life's simple moments
His cremation will be followed by a graveside service to include burial of his ashes at the Paron cemetery, Walnut Bottom, where he will rest alongside his parents, Robert and Fern Parson. Jim had recently mourned the loss of his only sibling, JoEtta Wood, in November 2025 and his step-grandson Colton House.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his devoted wife Janet Parson, sons Stephen Parson (Jennifer) of Benton and Dustin Parson of Bryant, granddaughters Alexa and Brooklyn, 5 stepchildren Ashley Faulkner (Bobby), Desha Poppelwell (Mark) Drew Kennemer (Austin) Stephen Clarke (Elizabeth) and Matthew Clarke(Shamra) 13 step-grandchildren , Layla, Ethan and Sierra Poppelwell, Colton House, Mason Faulkner, Dami Clarke, Brody, Berkley, Madi Kennemer, Laiken, Brody, Braden and Harlow Clarke who all fondly called him "Papa." His blended family was the cornerstone of his happiness and pride.
Jim's extended family includes Uncle Bobby Louallen, cousins Donnie , Russell, Chris Scallion, Kay Lattin, Robin Stingley, Becky Lewis and brother-in-law Charles Wood. His close friends Bobby Raper, Mark Fletcher, Brian Adams and Rick Carmichael were very important to him. All of his friends from ABF, who he worked with for over three decades, were also his family. He was so looking forward to “Slobfest”.
An enthusiastic chicken whisperer and passionate fisherman, Jim found profound contentment near Lake Winona and among his beloved chickens and dogs, Fred and Bud. His genuine compassion and love for community made him a treasured friend and neighbor.
In honor of Jim's generous spirit, the family requests memorial contributions to local blessing boxes or direct assistance to those in need.
A final announcement will be made regarding the burial of his ashes at Walnut Bottom in Paron, Arkansas.
