Janette A. (Sharp) Shultz

January 31, 1964 — March 12, 2024

Melbourne, Arkansas

Janette A. Shultz, 60, of Gid, Arkansas passed away March 12, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Janette was born January 31, 1964 in Howard County, Indiana to John C. Sharp, Jr. and Shirley J. Sharp (Cotham).

Janette was a loving mother, devoted wife, and friend. She truly loved her husband with all her heart. She was an advocate for those in need and passionate about doing for others before doing for herself. Janette was a member of The Real Progressives community and an avid listener of “Macro ‘n Chill”. She loved reading and sharing her love of books with others.

Janette enjoyed crocheting, sewing, painting, gardening, and tending to her farm animals. She was an herbalist who enjoyed mushroom hunting and wildcrafting with her husband. She loved sharing her knowledge with others. Janette was also an apiarist and aviarist of pigeons. Like her husband, she was close with nature and believed in putting back into the land. Each spring she prepared for the arrival of hummingbirds and cherished watching the deer raise their young.  She ensured her yard was a sanctuary for wild animals. Janette raised goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, and rabbits.

Janette is preceded in death by her husband, Jackie R Shultz, Jr.; her mother, Shirley Sharp; father, John Sharp; brother, Bobby J Sharp; and niece Hope Mullins-Sharp.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Shultz Henderson (Coby); her son, Nathon Shultz Scott; her grandchildren, Jaden and Derrick Henderson; her dearest friend, Tara Cousins, along with Tara’s children, Jaydin and Makenzie; her beloved animals; several extended family members; and other close friends.

I leave you with her favorite phrase: “Enjoy this day and your life for the gifts that they are. Love you all.”

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
