Jeffrey Lawrence Arntsen

Hot Springs, Arkansas

Jeffrey Lawrence Arntsen, age77, of Hot Springs National Park Arkansas, went to heaven peacefully, in the loving arms of his wife, Nancy, at their home on September 21, 2023.
 
Jeff was a Middle School teacher in Mercer WI for more than 25 years, where he also successfully coached girls high school basketball. He later became a principal in several other WI schools. Jeff loved children and excelled at helping the most challenged. He was a founding member and President of the Mercer Lion’s Club and a life-long Lion’s member. He was also a member of the Mercer Park Commission. Jeff was an avid Packer Fan and while living in Green Bay WI, attended many Packer games with his daughters and son-in-law. While living in Sarasota FL, he loved going to Siesta Beach and being part of the Ashton Lakes Community, where he & two friends were the founding members of the “5:00 Cocktail Hour”, which at last count, was attended by 75 dear friends.
 
Jeff was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sarasota for 14 years, serving in many roles. Upon moving to Hot Springs, he became a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He courageously battled Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia for many years, yet he continued to flash his welcoming smile and always said “Thank You” for any assistance.
 
We would like to thank the Family of Arkansas Hospice angels, who helped give him the most loving care that allowed him to remain in his home.
 
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, of 41 years, 3 daughters; Lauri Arntsen-Metz of Wake Forest NC, Brenda (Peter) Dagsgard of Washburn WI, Jennifer (Kyle) Arntsen of Madison WI. 2 stepsons; David (Jennifer) Wahlberg of Brooklyn Park MN, and Scott (Elizabeth) Wahlberg of Hot Springs AR. He is also survivied by his grandchildren - Alaina Arntsen-Metz, Kinsey Dagsgard, Meghan (Zak) Zuk, Taylor (Jacob) Heflin, Jonathan Wahlberg, Nicole Wahlberg, as well as two of his sisters - Kristy Bobb and Stephanie Arntsen, a brother-in-law - Gary (Sandy) Bentley, his sisters-in-law - Shirley Arntsen and Sue Lucas, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 
 
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, John “Bud” and Lois Arntsen, two brothers -  Lee & William “Billy” Arntsen, two sisters - Andrea Arntsen and Jacqueline Smith, brother-in-law -  Timothy Bobb and infant granddaughter - Cassidy Mae Dagsgard.
 
A private prayer service will be held at a later date in Hot Springs. The Officiant and music will be performed by dear friend, Paster John Mark Moore.

Memorials preferred to Arkansas Hospice, Hot Springs AR or the Parkinson’s Place, Sarasota FL.
