In Remembrance of Jerold D. Woods - Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, and Friend

Jerold was born to the late Helen Faye Woods and Jerald Dale (Jerry) Woods, Sr., on May 30, 1963 in Newport, Arkansas. He passed away at his home in Malvern, Arkansas, on December 9, 2025, after a long, hard 13-year battle with cancer.

Jerold was a proud Bauxite Miner at heart and an even prouder Veteran. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1982. The lessons he learned during his time as a Marine shaped the man he became. Jerold worked as an expert mover at Lance Moving for over 30 years.

Jerold was a kind, loving, loyal, and hard-working family man. He dedicated his life to his family. He viewed each day that he was able to get up and work hard to provide for his family as a blessing. He rarely judged others and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Jerold loved deeply. To be loved by him was a gift, a constant source of support from a man with unwavering loyalty. All who knew him will miss the joy, love, and laughter he brought into their lives.

Jerold is survived by his loving wife of almost 40 years, Tammy Woods; his two daughters, Tarynn Woods and Micah Woods (Tyler Brents); his two grandchildren, Eleanor Dodd and Emilynn Dodd; his siblings, Becky Woods, Randy Woods (Tammy Martin), Richard Covert, and Robin Arredondo (Archie); his aunts and uncles, Shirley Jones, Tim Greer, and Marilyn McCrystal; his cousin, Peter Caruso (Mary), Diana Woods, and Heather McCrystal; his nieces and nephews, Rusty Mitchell, Cami Beers (Jarrod), Heather Mitchell (Matt Smith), Jennifer Tucker (Levi), Jessica Burgess (Alex), Rachel Arredondo (Taylor Climo), Courtney Covert (Tennaya), Jake Woods, Meghan Woods, Alexis Arredondo, and Peter Caruso Jr.; many great-nieces and great-nephews; his close personal friends, Billy Browning, Tim Huckaby, and Lance and Lorraine Hicks; and his beloved pets, Sambo, Dixie Lou, and Tanke.

Jerold is preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Richard Leroy Covert, Rose Anne Harper, and David Harper; his grandparents, Reverend Gladys Woods, Reverend Elvies Woods, Rufus Jones, and Dorothy Jewel Jones; Aunt Phyllis George (Ron George); Aunt Martha Ann (Molly) Woods; Uncle Samuel Woods (Charlotte); sister in law Karen Ziemer; and nephew Richard Anthony (Richie) Covert.

The family will host a Remembrance Gathering in honor of Jerold at the Bauxite Community Hall at 6707 Benton St in Bauxite, Arkansas on January 17 at 1:00pm.
