Jimmy Lynn Stephens

Jimmy Lynn Stephens, age 69, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, enduring friendships, and a legacy that will not be forgotten. 

Jim was born on October 14, 1956, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the late Carroll (“Steve”) Stephens and Donna Stephens. He was the second of four sons and spent his childhood in the Pine Bluff area, where he attended Dollarway Schools. 

In his early years, Jim worked on a riverboat before discovering his passion for cosmetology. After graduating from Pine Bluff Cosmetology School, he began his professional career in 1978. Over the course of more than four decades, he became one of the area’s most respected hairstylists. Renowned for his meticulous attention to detail and dedication to his craft, he cultivated lasting relationships with generations of clients. Even after semi-retiring around 2018, many continued to seek his services, often remarking that he provided the finest haircuts they had ever received. 

Beyond his professional life, Jim was a gifted guitarist and vocalist who found great joy in music. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, riding motorcycles, and living life at his own pace. Known for his relaxed demeanor, he was often affectionately described as fashionably late and unhurried. His warm spirit, sense of humor, and distinctive personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll (“Steve”) Stephens and Donna Stephens. He is survived by his son, Adam Stephens and his wife, Brittany, of White Hall, and their children, Chastin and spouse Zoë Stephens, Deacon Stephens, and Eva Marie Stephens; his daughter, Brittni Fitzhugh of Fort Worth, Texas; and his youngest son, Bracy Stephens of White Hall. He is also survived by his brothers, Steve Stephens and his wife, Tammy, of Pine Bluff; Michael Stephens and his wife, Julie, of White Hall; and Mark Stephens and his wife, Cynthia, of Pine Bluff, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends. 

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Life Fellowship Church (formerly White Hall First Assembly), 801 W. Hoadley Rd., White Hall, Arkansas, officiated by Dean Caldwell.Jim’s legacy endures through the family he cherished, the many lives he touched throughout his career, the music he shared, and the memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered with great respect and fondness, and his presence will be deeply missed.
