Johnnie Randall Poss, a loving father, devoted brother, ordained minister, and one-of-a-kind soul who touched countless lives, passed away on May 8, 2026. He was a man who lived with purpose, faith, and a deep love for the people around him.

Born on February 14, 1961, to Johnnie C. Poss and Barbara J. Poss, Johnnie spent his life teaching others and offering guidance and wisdom to anyone who asked. He was known as a brother to all — admired for his kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support for everyone he encountered. He was a godly man of deep faith and quiet strength, who led a life of unwavering devotion to God and selfless love for others, touching countless hearts.

In his free time, Johnnie was an avid outdoorsman who cherished the peace and beauty of nature. He loved fishing with his family and found great joy in gardening. As many of you know, he also had a true passion for cooking. Johnnie loved preparing meals, gathering around the table with family and friends, and sharing laughter, stories, and meaningful time together. Those moments spent with others were among the things he treasured most. One of his most beloved family traditions was making his famous buttermilk pancakes, a meal his grandchildren always looked forward to.

Professionally, Johnnie was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for more than 20 years. He brought the same integrity, dedication, and strong work ethic to his craft that defined every area of his life.

Johnnie’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught, the faith he shared, and the love he gave so freely. Above all, he was a devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheena Poss.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Ben Poss and son Harrison; Michael Poss and children Jacob, Brantley, and Jackson; Tyler Poss and children Tinsley, Addie, and Mark; Julie and John Gladden and daughter Annette; Katie and Andrew Hendrix and daughter Oaklyn Rose; and Brent Wall and Sarah Lambert and children Ben, Layla, Levi, and Henry; Step-daughter Anna Randolph and daughters Addie, Piper, and Carson; Step-son Dylan Hale and wife Tiffany Hale.
