John Edward Price, 83, of Hensley, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boerne, Texas, John, affectionately known as Big John, built a successful career as a custom home builder, earning a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail. Families across Central Arkansas live in homes that stand as a testament to his dedication and artistry. He also partnered with his son, John Price Jr. (Little John), in an excavation business, combining their talents and work ethic to develop residential and commercial properties.

John had a strong personality—honest, caring, and deeply loyal. He was a valuable friend, always willing to give his time, tools, and knowledge to help others. Beyond his love for horses and building homes, John had a lifelong passion for custom cars, building engines, and jet boat drag racing.

Known throughout the horse community for his skill in cutting and breeding horses, John spent countless hours in his barn, working with his horses and baling hay. His passion for the equestrian world was matched only by his love for his family—especially his two grandchildren, George and Madelyn, who became the center of his life in later years. His life was a testament to generosity, integrity, and devotion to those he loved.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Maurine Price, father Bill Price, and brother Donnie Price. He is survived by his son, John Price Jr., and his wife, Brenda Price of Hensley, AR; his daughter, Brittany Hargis and her husband, Adam of Greenbrier, AR, his grandchildren, George and Madelyn; and his sister, Lynn Price of Boerne, Tx.

A memorial service will be held at East Union Missionary Baptist Church in East End, AR, on January 17th, 2026, at 2 pm.
