Joseph Layne

Born December 7, 1946 to Joseph and Edith Layne passed away January 7, 2023 at home. He is survived by his wife Linda, three daughters, Renee (Bill) Landsaw Joplin, MO Sarah (Chris) Davis Little Rock, AR and Ashley (Mat) Sumpter Dayton, OH and sister Margaret Tracy Carl Junction, MO along with 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth, sisters, Marcella, Rosella, Genevieve, Claudine, daughter Melinda and son-in-law Chris Henson. Joe spent many years employed with the City of Joplin but also greatly enjoyed his time working with Joplin Schools. His avid love for collecting included sports cards, coins and Elvis memorabilia. But his most prized collection were the many relationships he developed with friends throughout the years.
JE enjoyed bowling, bingo and involvement with the Joplin Moose Lodge.
What he would tell you he loved the most were the 59 years he and his wife spent building a family and memories together.
