Kathryn Mary (Carter) Hulbert

Kathryn Mary (Carter)Hulbert born August 30th, 1944, to Ira and Vivian Carter, took her last earthly breath the afternoon of January 21, 2024. Kathryn was the middle of three children: Jacqueline, Kathryn and Fred. She was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs Iowa. This is where she met Herbert Hulbert, and they became husband and wife. 55 wonderful years together and to this union three children occurred: Debra, George, and Kathryn (Katie).

Kathryn was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, sister-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was loved and adored by all who knew her and those she encountered. Kathryn was very involved with her church from childhood. As a child and growing up she attended Emanuel Church of the Nazarene in Council Bluffs Iowa. Later, when they relocated to Little Rock Arkansas in 1988, for Herbert’s employment with the Union Pacific, she joined the First Church of the Nazarene. Now known as The Forge Church of the Nazarene.

Kathryn/s faith ran deep in her life, and she shared that faith with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and children. Kathryn took Jackie, James and Scott to church faithfully and later she took Caitlyn and Tessa and the other grands. Kathryn was a huge help in raising several of her grandchildren as well as supporting the grandchildren and great grandchildren that later joined the family.

Kathryn was the family picture and birthday keeper. She would send cards, small gifts, letters and pictures to each family member and close friends. It has been said among a lot of the family that her cards will be truly missed in the times to come. Kathryn also kept several journals about family occurrences and situations happening. She loved to keep everyone informed and to remember things that happened.

Kathryn is proceeded in death by her parents, Ira and Vivian Carter and her in laws, George and Marjorie Hulbert, her sister and brother-in-law Jacqueline and Miles Withrow, brothers-in-law, Norman Hulbert and Daniel Hulbert, nephew William Hulbert, sister-in-law Nancy Hulbert and her daughter Kathryn (Katie) Watson.

Kathryn is survived by her husband of 55 years Herbert Hulbert Little Rock Ark, her daughter, Debra (Brian) Ainsworth Conway, Arkansas. Son George (Midori) Hulbert of San Diego, California. Son in law Van (Kathryn (Katie), Lashondra Newton, and Celeste Watson of Little Rock, Arkansas, her sisters-in-law Earline (Daniel) Hulbert and Florence (Norman)Hulbert of Conway Arkansas. Sister-in-law Lisa (Russ) Leuschen of Omaha, Nebraska and brother-in-law Lawrence (Nancy)Hulbert of Lincoln Nebraska, a brother Fred (Nancy) Carter of Springdale Arkansas as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Jacqueline Whitbeck, James Whitbeck, Samantha (Ruben) Walton, Amanda Clark, Cady Johnson, Scott Whitbeck, Caitlyn Watson, Tessa Watson, Madalyn Knight, Carter Knight, Amelia Watson, Mikah Watson, Andrew Hulbert and Allen Hulbert and nine great grandchildren Dominick Welter, Ayden Welter, Carter Johnson, Lilith Perrymore, Evelyn Clark, Riley Whitbeck, Madison Lopez, Braylen Walton and Adalynn Walton.

The family is having a memorial celebration of life at Kathryn’s church The Forge Church of the Nazarene 1309 Old Forge Dr. Little Rock Arkansas 72227 February 10th, 2024, at 2pm.
