Kevin Lucas Pride

Kevin Lucas Pride, child of the Covenant, loved of God, was returned to the Father on January 20, 2026, in Hot Springs, Arkansas at the age of 69. Born to Richard Pride and Nadine Lucas Pride on April 14, 1956, in San Diego, California, Kevin grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and spent his life adventuring many places.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn, of ten years; daughters, Erin Pride Franklin (Andy) and Melissa Rigsby (Joe); sons, Michael Bates (Kaitlin) and David Bates; brothers, Richard Pride (Dana) and David Pride (Sarah); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous dear friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stephen Pride and Gary Pride; and wife, Cindy.

Da to his grandkids, Kevin was an amazing storyteller. He would tell of the places he had been, jobs he had performed, and people he met along the way, bringing every story to life with his imagination. He was a nature conservationist and environmental conservation activist, protecting forests and waterways through efforts with OWL and ECHO. He spent summers working in Yellowstone or Grand Teton National Park and winters with Harp Security in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He enjoyed monkeying around in the trees as a tree trimmer and taught this trade to anyone willing to learn. He was the Foreman of the City of Little Rock’s Riverfront Park and worked at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. He worked with various search and rescue organizations, both in the field and sharing his immense knowledge by conducting wilderness and survival trainings. He served his community as a volunteer firefighter, trained as an EMT, and worked as an instructor with the Crows Station Fire Protection Association. Kevin loved people and their animals and spent a portion of his retirement years in the garden department at The Home Depot in Benton, Arkansas to swap stories with all who passed through.

Kevin had a strong body, a sharp and creative mind, a warrior’s spirit, and a compassionate heart. He will be dearly missed. A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local hospice provider.
