Kimberly "Kim" Stone Griffith passed away on November 2, 2024, after a courageous and lengthy battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born on October 13, 1974, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Kim was a light in the lives of those who knew her, bringing joy, compassion and a relentless love into every relationship.
Kim was predeceased by her father, Darrell "Shorty" Stone; her beloved sister, Charlotte Jean Stone; her paternal grandparents, O.C. and Celestia Stone; and her maternal grandparents, Cecil and Lottye Short. She is survived by her devoted husband, Lance Griffith, and their children, Anna Grace and Chase, who were the absolute joys of her life. She leaves behind her mother, Veronica Allen [Richard]; sibling, Mary Kathryn Eddy [Doug]; and a wide circle of loving family and friends. Her Camp Mitchell family never wavered in their love for Kim, and she considered them family to the very end of her life.
Camp Mitchell is where she spent countless summers as a camper, counselor, and, most importantly, a friend and role model. She especially cherished her time working with the Robert R. Brown camp, a session dedicated to those with disabilities. Known for creating memorable hand motions to beloved camp songs, Kim’s playful spirit lives on in the memories of campers young and old. Kim devoted her life to caring for her family and found her greatest joy in their happiness. Her quick wit and humor were matched only by her thoughtfulness and generosity. Her love was never in question and wanted only love in return. She surpassed expectations at every turn whether it be with her extraordinary holiday celebrations, birthday tables, craftworks, or her unwavering strength to battle cancer with a positive attitude and humor. Forgiving in an unforgiving world, she was a friend to anyone in need, never hesitating to go out of her way to offer comfort and support.
A memorial service celebrating Kim’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 30, 2024, at the Chapel of Transfiguration, 10 Camp Mitchell Rd., Morrilton, Arkansas. A reception will follow at Hoke Lodge, Camp Mitchell. In Kim’s memory, may we all embrace the love, kindness, and spirit she shared so generously with the world.
