Lanny worked in law enforcement most of his life. He loved his job, and he was known as a peacemaker. He also was a successful businessman when he quit the Sheriff’s Department because of the gun issue. Lanny had a pet shop, lawn service, and a limousine service. Lanny and his wife worked hard together to support their family. Lanny returned to law enforcement with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department for 13 years where he worked in the jail as an unarmed guard. While living in Cookeville Tennessee, Lanny spent several years as a crossing guard for the Putnam County School District where he became known for his cheerfulness and beautiful smile. The staff, children, and community looked forward to seeing him each day. He was also given the honor of being recognized as a citizen in the community that makes a difference.

Lanny was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 22, 1961, along with two of his siblings, Larry and Mike. The ministry was the focal point of his life. He became a full-time minister in 2000 and continued until he passed. He always made himself available in whatever assignment he received. The congregation became an extension of his family, and he loved caring for and serving his brothers and sisters.

Lanny enjoyed fellowship with his fellow believers as well as dancing, playing cards, camping, fishing and sitting around a campfire with his friends and family. He would never turn down the challenge of a cornhole game.

Lanny will be deeply missed by all. Since we can’t get together in person to celebrate his life, if you have any experiences or memories of Lanny, please put them in the guest book, the family and friends would love to read it.
