Lynetta (Scarbrough) Hawkins

Lynetta (Scarbrough) Hawkins, age 75 passed away on October 15, 2025 after a long illness.

She was born on June 6, 1950 to the late John and Bernice (Bell) Scarbrough in Little Rock, Arkansas. After graduating from Highland Park High School in Topeka, Kansas in 1968, Lynetta attended Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. Shortly after, she became employed by IBM and remained there until her retirement.

Lynetta was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Louis, Reginald and Gerald. She is survived by her husband Robert Hawkins, her son Tony Murphy, her sister Denice Intyre, her sister-in-law Anita Scarbrough, step-sons Lonnie and Shawn Hawkins and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Cremation is planned. There will be a private family graveside service.

The family would like to thank the entire Bell family who were there for Lynetta during her illness from the beginning to the end of her journey. You were a blessing to us Rhonda, LaVerne, Tony, Kathleen, and Mickey.
