Madeline Rose Wright

October 29, 2002 — May 15, 2026

North Little Rock, Arkansas

Mattie was the child who saved money for big rewards instead of instant gratification, and she always finished her homework first thing when she got home from school. She was an A student and received many awards for her good behavior, perfect attendance, and hard work.

Mattie graduated with honors from North Little Rock High School, class of 2021. She was a gifted athlete and had the opportunity to play soccer in college, but chose instead to "lock in" on her core classes at the University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College. While Mattie worked many jobs, she was most passionate about the true art of customer service as a waitress.

She was raised in the Catholic faith by her mom, her grandparents David and Martha Dingler, and her uncle Eric Dingler. Her mother paved the way for female altar servers at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and Mattie proudly followed suit alongside her sister, Taylor Wright.

Mattie had struggles like we all do, but she was successful in establishing a beautiful new relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen! She loved her Bible deeply and shared this new faith with her niece by taking her to church.

Mattie’s heart was defined by the deep love she had for her family. For 17 years, Mattie was the baby sister of the family. Needless to say, she was completely blindsided by the news that she was going to be a big sister, famously telling her dad, "You're too old!" Of course, once the surprise wore off, she fell completely in love with her baby brother, Jaylen.

Mattie was also a proudly devoted aunt to her niece, Jaycee Wright. If you were to ask Jaycee what Mattie loved most in this world, her answer would be simple and certain: "She loves me the most." Although Jaycee affectionately called her "Meme," the nickname actually started with Mattie herself. As a young child, she would call herself Meme, but if her family tried to do the same, she would quickly correct them with a sassy, "Me not Meme. Me Mattie." Years later, it became the perfect name for her favorite role as Jaycee’s aunt.

In her passing, Mattie chose to be an organ donor, heroically saving five lives with the gift of her heart, lungs, liver, and both kidneys. She also donated tissue and bone to aid in continued research for rheumatoid arthritis. Mattie passed peacefully on May 15, 2026, leaving behind the ultimate gift of life through her choice to be an organ donor.

She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Wayne and Patsy Dingler of Mena, AR; Norm and Rose Feller of Jacksonville, AR; and her grandmother, Barbara Jean Wright of Clarendon, AR.

Madeline is survived by her loving parents: her mother, Courtney Dingler (Marlen); and her father, Travion Wright (Lacresha). She is also survived by her siblings: sister Taylor Wright, and half-brother, Jaylen Wright. She is further survived by her bonus sister, Hanna Gardner; her beloved boyfriend, Shaquintan Grubbs; and her cherished fur baby, Bug. She leaves behind her adored niece, Jaycee Wright; her grandparents, David “Papa” and Martha “Sunshine” Dingler; her uncle, Eric Dingler (Kayla) and cousin Emma Rain; and her uncle, Donte Wright (Melinda) and cousin Jameela & Nathan: her auntie Theresa Wright; alongside a host of deeply loved extended family members and close friends.

We will be meeting at the Burns Park soccer field #13 on Friday, May 29th from 6:00 PM - 6:45 PM to share memories. At 7:00pm, we will have her Celebration of Life at Burns Park Hospitality House.
