Margaret Ann (Wray) Roberts

Margaret Ann Roberts, 89, of Bryant, AR went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2023. She was born on March 18 to John and Blanche Wray of Benton. She graduated Benton High School and married Tommy “TJ” Ramsey.

She quickly became interested in the business world where she worked as an Insurance Rater and Writer for 15 years then Executive Secretary and Office Manager for Casa Bonita in Little Rock for 10 years. She attended UALR where she completed her BS in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.


In 1971, she became Charter President of the Business and Professional Women’s Club in Bryant. In 1972, she became the first female member of the Bryant City Council and served as Alderman from 1972 to 1990. From1993 to 2003, she served on the Bryant Water Commission. From 1995 to 2008, she served on the  Board of Directors of Saline Memorial Hospital and served as Chairman of the Board in 2001-2003 and 2007 to 2008. She also served as Treasurer for Mount Carmel United Methodist Church for 25 years.


She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Blanche Wray, husband Tommy “TJ” Ramsey, brothers Fred and Johnny Wray, sister Martha Buckelew and daughter R. Catherine Ramsey, son Steven Roberts.

She is survived by her husband Terry Roberts of 17 years, her brothers, Louis and Gerald Wray, daughter Gwen (Mark) Hunt, Patti (Fred) Lemons, her grandsons Shannon Campbell, Chance Roberts, her granddaughters Sara (Dustin) Fullerton, Allison (Ricky) Bagley, Melissa (Chad) Rhodes, Casey Roberts, Megan (Daniel) Abo, Markie (Dennis) Alexander, her great-grandchildren Tylee (TJ), Jordan, Jolee, Christian, Bellamy, Sherwood, Raiden, Noah, Gabe, Casen, Lyla, Hunter and Daisy Bagley and a host of nieces and nephews.


Memorial/Celebration will be held at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, on Hwy 5 in Benton, Arkansas on Monday, October 16 at 10:00.
