Mary Jo Shumate

Mary (Jo) Shumate, age 73, from Damascus Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7th 2023, at Conway Regional Medical Center. She was born in Damascus Arkansas on November 11th 1949. She is survived by 8 children, 20 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and many other loved ones, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her soul mate Ray Postell, her parents, her grandparents, 2 brothers, 1 grand-daughter, and a nephew.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved sitting outside watching and feeding the birds. Her favorite birds were cardinals. Her favorite flower's were yellow roses. Family and friend's will have a small, intimate get together to celebrate her life at a later date.

I feel you watching over me 

everywhere I go.

I wish you were here with me

but that can never be,

Memories of you in my heart, 

that only I can see.

if I could hold your hand.
