Patrick Lee Knight, M.D., age 85, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025. He was a physician, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Mary Knight. He is survived by his twin brother, Michael E. Knight (Virginia); his children, Laura Knight (Pamela), Morgan Knight (Paula), Heather Knight, and Tom Knight; stepchildren Kevin Bray (Lacey) and Denise Johnson; grandchildren Caleb Dale, Oliver Dale, Kimberly Frost, Elliot Bray, and Riley Bray; and great-grandchildren Allison, Brooke, and Cameron.
A proud graduate of Catholic High School (Class of 1957), Patrick continued his education at Little Rock University (now UALR) before earning his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine in 1964. He completed his internship and residency in pathology at UAMS in 1968 and went on to become board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
Patrick also served his country as a Captain in the United States Air Force, stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Over the course of his medical career, he practiced in Hot Springs, Arkansas, as well as in Texas, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.
Patrick was happiest when surrounded by family, sharing puns, and being lovingly silly. He enjoyed coin collecting, sports, sending and receiving greeting cards, and time spent with his pets.
In his later years, Patrick lived in a local healthcare facility where he was lovingly cared for by dedicated staff including Jackie Miller, LPN, Markita Kelly, LPN, and many others. He found spiritual peace and connection through the weekly visits of Helen Evans, a Catholic Eucharistic Minister. The family offers heartfelt gratitude to all who provided care, companionship, and ministry during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the UAMS College of Medicine or Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Little Rock.
Per Patrick’s wishes, no formal services will be held. A private family gathering to honor his memory will be scheduled in the near future.
