Richard Carroll McCormack

January 4, 1949 — February 16, 2026

Maumelle, Arkansas

Richard Carroll McCormack, age 77, left his worldly home on Monday, February 16, 2026, in his home in Maumelle, Arkansas, after a brave battle with Parkinson’s disease. Up until the end, Rick maintained his kindness, love for his family and sense of humor, reflecting on a life full of wonderful people and experiences.

Rick was born in Ruston, Louisiana, on January 4, 1949. After attending Louisiana Tech, he moved to Natchitoches, Louisiana to attend watchmaker’s school. After graduating he was offered a job in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he made his home the rest of his life.

Rick was an incredibly talented and well-respected jeweler. He owned his own business, alongside his wife and love of his life, Deb! They loved doing jewelry trade shows together, and running their business side by side for many years. In addition to owning their jewelry business, Rick and Deb took over a tenant’s lease and opened “Kris and Sam’s Cookie Store”, named after their beloved grandchildren. This was a labor of love for Rick and Deb. He loved making up recipes and added sandwiches to expand their menu. He was an excellent cook and loved cooking for his family and friends!

An avid hunter and fisherman, Rick enjoyed boating and all things outdoors! Above all, Rick was generous and loving to those in his life. He was known for giving people jobs even when he didn’t need them.

Survivors are his loving wife of 47 years, Deb, daughter Stephani Franklin, son Ryan McCormack, sisters Karen Helm (Bruce) and Gwen Lindsey, brother Paul McCormack (Kim), grandchildren Sam McCormack and Kristen Nettles, as well as so many others that loved and admired him.

Rick is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pauline Scott Beard and Samuel Beard, paternal grandparents, Emma and George McCormack, parents Wanda Beard McCormack and Donald McCormack and his son, Brandon McCormack.

The family would like to thank Immanuel Baptist Church for visiting Rick during his illness and praying for him throughout his fight, and Gentiva Hospice for their gentle care at home after his hospital stay.
