Robert Bowers I, 71, of Morrilton, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025. A man of strong spirit and deep convictions, he will be remembered for his kind heart, easy laugh, and unwavering connection to the outdoors.
From a young age, Robert was most content when surrounded by nature. He felt a spiritual connection to the wild, and his favorite animal, the wolf, was a symbol of his loyalty, intelligence, and fierce devotion to his family. This spirit drove his lifelong involvement with the Boy Scouts, where he mentored young men and women, leading them on adventures and instilling in them the values of integrity and courage.
Whether it was casting his line into a serene mountain stream or spending a quiet weekend camping in the wilderness, Robert lived life fully and authentically. His family will forever cherish the memory of his storytelling around a campfire and his patient guidance on the riverbank. He taught us that the greatest riches are found not in possessions but in shared experiences and the beauty of the natural world.
Robert leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Lori; his children, Stephanie, Robert II (Maria); and his grandchildren. His legacy lives on in every knot tied, every fish caught, and every story told under the open sky.
He is survived by his mother, Winnovene Bowers; his brother Duane (Liz), sister Janice (Donny), mother-in-law, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
His memory lives on with his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. Also, many cousins. He was predeceased by his father Delton Bowers.
A memorial/Celebration of Life service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Morrilton on October 18, 2025 at 10:30 am.
