Ronnie “Loon” Hill, 68, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on April 30, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Livermore, California, to Wallace Hill and Laverne Ellenburg Hill.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Lawrence Hill; his parents; his sister, Connie Hill Weaver; and his brother, Rick Hill.
Ronnie was a man who found his peace outdoors. Hunting and fishing were more than hobbies—they were his passion and where he felt most at home. He could spend hours in the woods or on the water, and the stories that came from those days were ones he carried proudly. Among those memories, one stood out above the rest—his prized wall-mounted fish, a catch he was especially proud of and made sure everyone knew about. If there was a story to tell, Ronnie had one, and it usually involved a rod, a rifle, and a good laugh.
If he wasn’t in the woods or on the water, you could find Ronnie throwing horseshoes with his buddies, riding his motorcycle, or doing the one-and-only “Loon trick shot” on the foosball table that, in his words, “you can’t stop it if you can’t see it”—and it worked every time! He loved fast cars and so much more.
Ronnie shared an unbreakable bond with his identical twin brother, Donnie Hill. More than brothers, they were best friends and lifelong companions—rarely apart and always side by side through life. In recent years, they lived together, sharing not just a home but the kind of closeness that only twins can truly understand. Donnie was not only his brother but his constant and his partner in everything.
Ronnie spent his time creating meaningful memories with his three daughters, whom he loved beyond measure, and his grandchildren, whom he never stopped bragging about. He was the best Grampy anyone could ask for. Those moments became some of the most important of his life. He especially cherished time with his great-grandson Ezra, who loved to sit with him and feed his Grampy all his snacks. He could spend hours showing off pictures of his “little man,” along with all his grandchildren and daughters. Each one of his grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He also loved spending time with his brother Gary, fishing and playing cards, and sharing memories of his nieces and their children, who always made sure he was taken care of.
He is survived by his daughters, Monica Hill of Delta Junction, Alaska; Tonia Hill of Bryant, Arkansas; and Rebekah Burgess (Jason “Pee-Royce”) of Dadanelle , Arkansas; his brothers, Gary Hill and Donnie Hill; his grandchildren, Nicholas Dollar, Madison Koenig, Julie Drewry, Dalton Gray, Hannah Pile, Hailey Pile, Collin Montana, Isabella Montana, Kadin Burgess, and Koby Burgess; his great-grandchildren, Ezra, Addison, Allison, Max, Lincoln, and Eli; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held on June 20th in Pine Bluff AR, with details on time and location to be announced.
