Rozilla Hoth

Rozilla “Rose” Hoth, 97, of Little Rock, Arkansas and formerly of Waverly, Iowa, passed away on May 24,
2023 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Rose was born on September 23, 1925 in Sacramento, California, and
adopted by Drs. C.C. and B.A. Hall of Maynard, Iowa. She grew up in Maynard, graduating from West
Central High School in 1942. She worked in Chicago for a few years after high school, returning to
complete her Bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University. After college, Rose married and devoted
her life to raising her three children. She lived with her husband and family in Waverly for over 30 years,
then lived in Lansing, Iowa and Gold Canyon, Arizona before settling in Little Rock near her eldest son.
Rose loved spending time with her family at their cabin in Lansing, fishing and boating on the Mississippi
river. She also loved reading novels, playing bridge, and traveling to new places. She was known for her
excellent skills as a pianist.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Hoth; her sons, Richard Hoth and Mark Hoth; and her
only brother Belmont Kappmeyer. She is survived by her children Barbara and Timothy Antoniou of
Lexington, Kentucky; Sheryl Hoth of Little Rock, Arkansas; and 10 grandchildren and 7 great-
grandchildren.
Rose will be interred in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly, Iowa later this year. Funeral plans are pending.
