Danny Shane Dunn

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Shane Dunn on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the young age of 54. Born in Wiesbaden, Germany in 1965, Shane valiantly engaged in war with renal failure for many years before losing a short battle with heart failure.

He has now followed his father, Danny and his daughter, Tressie Jo into eternity. His soulmate of 25 years, Nadey Jo, will forever cherish the memories of their innumerable adventures together. Also heartbroken in his absence are his mother, Mary Beth Dunn, mother-in-law, Nadey Jones, brother, Bobby (Stacy) Dunn, nieces Lexi, Hannah, McKenzie, and Holly, as well as one nephew, Nicholas. Shane’s spirit will dwell forevermore among the many dear friends who he challenged to laugh a little louder and love a little harder. A Jacksonville High School graduate of the class of 83, his passions included fishing, traveling, and rock-n-roll. He kissed the fish and let them go, always kept a bag packed in case a spontaneous trip arose, and took pride in knowing more musical trivia than anyone else in the room.

Shane was notorious for giving people nicknames. If you got the privilege of getting one from him, you knew you had arrived in his circle. He will forever remain on the minds of anyone who met him, and in the hearts of those who knew him. He lived his life to the absolute fullest and squeezed as much joy as possible out of every second.

Should you feel so inclined, donations in memory of Shane can be made to the National Kidney Foundation. ( https://www.kidney.org/support )  They have been invaluable to us over the years through their support and guidance while navigating this disease.

We would also like to express our gratitude to the many nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers who labored tirelessly to make this difficult journey a little easier.
