Elaine LeRoy

June 5, 1946 — June 12, 2022

Little Rock, Arkansas

Elaine Agnes Lipps LeRoy passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the age of 76. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and attended St. Matthias Grammar School and graduated from Mercy Academy in 1964.

Elaine’s calling in her life was to be the mother of her four children, whom she made her top priority in everything. She was able to stay home with them while they were young and then returned to the workforce as a receptionist and nurse for the dermatology practice of Vance A. Marinello, MD, in New Orleans from 1982 to 2013. After retiring, she selflessly offered her help and support to her brother, nephew, and friend to care for them through their terminal illnesses. In March 2020, she moved to Bryant, Arkansas to be near her daughter and her daughter’s family.

She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, reading, listening to music, going on hikes, shopping, finding treasures at thrift stores, walking her dog on the levee, and spending time with family. Her simple treats in life were Café du Monde’s café au lait & beignets and Robears’ chocolate snowballs. She was a woman of faith, who knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was generous of spirit, compassionate, joyful, curious, accepting, and lived with a sense of wonderment for nature and life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank J. Lipps Sr. and Inez Breen Lipps, brother Reverend Monsignor Frank Joseph Lipps Jr., and nephew Jeff Lipps. She is survived by her sister, Kathy Ferrara; brother Jack Lipps; sister-in-law Carol Norvil; children, Suzette Gorden (Ken), Earl “Chip” LeRoy III (Charlene), Keefe LeRoy (Sandy), and Richard LeRoy (Jill); grandchildren, Aidan, Ashton, Khale, and Cade; nephews John, Chuck, and Joey; and niece, Katie, as well as two great nephews, seven great nieces, and beloved pet, Frankie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, in the Tranquil Oaks Garden on July 22 at 10 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life.

In her last five months, Elaine was in the care of the Hospice Home Care Comfort Care Center in Little Rock where she was cared for by angels and saints who nursed her body and soul every day. We are so grateful for all who treated her with so much compassion, love, and dignity. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hospice Home Care – Little Rock
