Pauline Homishak

April 14, 1923 — May 22, 2020

Hot Springs, Arkansas

Pauline Almeda (Estell) Homishak died in the arms of the Lord on May 22, 2020, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was 97 years old. She was born on April 14, 1923, in Williamsville, Missouri, the youngest of five siblings. Her parents Margaret and Francis Estell moved the family to Hot Springs when “Polly” was five years old. When she was 18, she met the love of her life, Perless “Pete” Homishak, and they shared nearly 65 years of marriage before his passing in 2005.

A nurse, a homemaker, and a prayer warrior, Pauline made friends and created a sense of community wherever she went. She loved God. She loved her family. She loved her pets. She was an amazing cook. She could make anything grow. And she was always there to help anyone in need.

She is survived by a daughter, Paula Stewart, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Andrea Lively, of Conway, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many cousins. She also leaves behind many very special friends, including those in her church family; she was the oldest living member of the Hot Springs Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to ADRA; to the Shady Grove Cemetery Association; or to your local food bank or animal shelter.
