James Sanders

James Thomas Sanders Sr., born May 12, 1942,  peacefully passed from this life at his home in Humphrey, Arkansas after a courageous battle with cancer on November 14, 2021.

James was predeceased by his wife Gertie Lee Sanders (doll) and his parents Lobirdia Warren Sanders and Edger Sanders, three sister and 1 brother. He was the youngest of six siblings.

James is survived by two sons James Thomas Sanders Jr. (Tommy) of Humphrey, Arkansas and Michael Ray Sanders of Humphrey, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Lauren (Joey) Piwetz, Cody Sanders of Little Rock, Arkansas, Megan Sanders USN Norfolk, VA, and two great-grandsons Tripp and Parker Piwetz; one sister Yvonne Kinley (Bill) of Orange Park, Fl, and numerous nieces and nephews.

James was a lifelong resident of Humphrey, an alumnus of Humphrey High School, a general contractor and served in the Army Natural Guard. James served as Mayor of Humphrey for many years.

Burial will be private at a later date. The family would like to express a heart felt “Thank You” to Deborah Aultman, a special friend and care giver Mary Robinson, and the team at Hospice Home Care.
